WHO?
Tinpot Hut wines come from grapes primarily grown in premium vineyards in Blind River (a subregion of Marlborough) owned by winemaker Fiona Turner. The term ‘hut’ symbolizes the area where sheep were gathered and sheltered from spring to autumn. The name itself connects Marlborough’s past as a pastoral center with its current status as one of the most dynamic wine regions.
WHERE?
Marlborough, the epicenter of New Zealand’s wine boom and the main driving force behind its international success. A large number of sunny hours during summer and autumn allow for the formation of fresh and intense flavors that have captured the attention of the global audience. The grapes for this wine come from meticulously tended low-yield vineyards (Blind River and Conders Bend) in Marlborough.
WHY?
It is ruby red with a purple hue. Intense aromas of dark cherries, black currants, and plums dominate at first sniff. Mushrooms and finely integrated oak complete the enticing nose. On the palate, sensations of juicy cherries alternate with elements of blackberry and earthiness. Silky-textured ripe tannins combined with harmonious acidity ensure admirable fullness and a long finish.
