He has built his reputation on vineyards in two Istrian locations &#8211; the first located on the slopes of Buje and Krasica in northwestern Istria, and the second in Grimalda, several kilometers north of Pazin, in the municipality of Cerovlje.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>WHERE? <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The vineyards of Buje have been the &#8220;base&#8221; of our Malvasias from the very beginning. The Ka\u0161tanjari and Vrh locations are mature, planted at the end of the 1980s. The vineyard positions are several kilometers away from the sea, offering views of the Alps and Venice on clear days. Grimalda, the vineyard Brdo, is situated in the extension of the Mirna River valley and Lake Butoniga. Positioned at 250-300 meters above sea level, facing south, the vineyard has terraces following the hill&#8217;s configuration, with slopes up to 35%. Planted from 2003 onwards, the assortment consists of Malvasia, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay for whites, and Merlot and Teran for reds, with a bit of Syrah and Cabernet.<\/p>\n<h3>WHY?<\/h3>\n<p>A blend of Teran and Merlot from the organic vineyards of Grimalda in 2021 ended up in a special edition of Grimalda with a blue label, for the first time since 2013.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grimalda Blue is characterized by unrestrained, predominantly Teran liveliness, juiciness, and elegance.
