Charles Heidsieck is one of the most renowned champagnes in the world, created by one of the most famous winemaking teams in Champagne – winners of the prestigious title “Sparkling Winemaker of the Year” a remarkable 15 times. Established in 1851 by a man known as “Champagne Charlie,” who is famous for introducing champagne to America. The cellars of Charles Heidsieck are protected UNESCO World Heritage sites, comprising over eight kilometers of chalk tunnels connecting forty-seven underground cathedrals called Cray\u00e8res, reaching heights of 30 meters.<\/p>\n

The year 1981 was exceptionally extraordinary with an extremely rare harvest. Drastic climatic variations over winter, as well as spring frost, destroyed 25% of the expected crop. However, upon tasting the grapes, especially the Chardonnay in the white Grand Cru vineyards, it was determined to be of excellent quality. Pinot Noir brought acidity and generosity. Overall, an intensely aromatic wine with exceptional aging potential was created.<\/p>\n
