Walter (formerly the chief winemaker of Agrolaguna) and his son Marko dedicate themselves fully to winemaking today, planting selected grape varieties from globally recognized regions, ensuring a quality that has no alternative here.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>WHERE?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Located in Western Istria, not far from the picturesque village of Ka\u0161telir, lies Meki\u0161i, a genuine Istrian homestead that serves as the residence and cellar of the Legovi\u0107 family. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 220-250 meters on the famous red soil of Istria, rich in bauxite and iron, which imparts a strong mineral character to the wines. Here, the essence of the terroir is skillfully captured in every glass.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>WHY?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Mr. Walter sourced the cuttings for his Franac all the way to Chinon, a French town nestled in the Loire Valley, symbolizing the quintessential expression of this variety in the world of wine. The Istrian terra rossa has woven a unique signature of the locality into the wine, resulting in an exceptionally authentic, well-crafted wine of incredible value for money. The lavish nose presents a beautiful amalgam of fruit (cherries from compote, griotte, dark cherries, and black olives), tertiary notes (moss, humus, leather, and tobacco), and herbal-spicy nuances (green pepper, rosemary, and carob).
