Today, Valter (formerly the head winemaker at Agrolaguna) and his son Marko dedicate themselves fully to winemaking, planting selected grapevine varieties from globally recognized regions to ensure quality that has no alternative here.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>WHERE?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In Western Istria, not far from the picturesque town of Ka\u0161telir, lies Meki\u0161i, a true antique Istrian estate that serves as both residence and cellar for the Legovi\u0107 family. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 220-250 meters on the famous red soil of Istria, rich in bauxite and with a high iron content, imparting a strong mineral seal to the wines. Here, the essence of the terroir is masterfully poured into the glass.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>WHY?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The vineyards of Brdo and \u0106uki are the sources of this Teran, whose naturally wild character is somewhat tamed by the Legovi\u0107 family through two years of aging in large barrels. It is deep, almost opaque purple in color. The nose is filled with aromas of dark berries (blueberries, black currants, ripe cherries), flowers (violets), and a hint of fine tobacco framed by a striking saltiness.
