The first vineyards were planted by the great-grandfather of the current generation, Mihovil Popich, known by the nickname Rizman. Since 2006, 22 hectares of new vineyards have been established in the newest wine-growing region in Croatia, Komarna. The pure, unpolluted soil, which is always full of wild grasses, allows for organic farming principles.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>WHERE?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The vineyards are located in the Komarna wine-growing region. The sites are on hilly slopes ranging from an altitude of 250 meters down to sea level. The soil is primarily composed of limestone with a small proportion of earth. All sites face south and southwest, enjoying more than 2600 hours of sunshine annually. Exposure to winds and the ventilation of all positions significantly facilitate the organic approach.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>WHY?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Wines from the Brime line are made exclusively from grapes from their own organic vineyards and are regularly in the category of entry-level Plavac with an unbeatable price-quality ratio. Surprisingly fresh for a Plavac, with moderate alcohol, ripe and finely grained tannins, and full of dark berry fruits (cherry, plum, blackberry) framed by brief aging in oak.
