Upon taking over the estate from his father, he replaced high-yielding Dornfelder vineyards with old Riesling vineyards in Geyseberg and ceased using conventional preparations in the vineyard. His 21 hectares of vineyards are located in Rheinhessen, which is currently undergoing a wine renaissance with Jochen at the helm. Low yields and careful selection in the vineyard ensure excellent grape quality. Of the total 21 hectares, 55% of the vineyards are planted with Riesling. The soil is a mixture of loess and loam.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>WHY? <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Jochen&#8217;s wines hold an organic certification, while his approach in the cellar is non-interventionist and as natural as possible. The opulent nose seduces with aromas of strawberries and spicy elements.
