Winemaker Franco Massolino, the fourth generation of this winemaking family, has done a remarkable job by combining change that respects tradition in every aspect, setting him apart from most younger producers in Piedmont today.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>WHERE?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The grapes for this Barbera come from several vineyards located in Serralunga d&#8217;Alba, one of the most prestigious wine-growing areas in all of Piedmont. The vines are on average between 10 and 45 years old, and the soil is of mixed composition but with a predominant presence of limestone.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>WHY?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Barbera is the &#8220;first companion&#8221; in Piedmont, right alongside the divine Nebbiolo. It has a deep purple color. On the nose, there is a refined elegance with intense fruity notes (blueberries), typical of Barbera.
