WHO?
Gašper, located in the Goriška Brda region, which is part of the larger Primorska region, rests on the western border of Slovenia with northeastern Italy. Goriška Brda is blessed with an ideal climate for viticulture due to its proximity to the Adriatic Sea and the Alps, which provide dry, warm summers with a cool breeze that cools the grapes during ripening.
WHERE?
The vineyards, aged between 10 and 25 years, are characterized by the “opoka” soil, also known as flysch, and excellent exposure to sunlight on terraced positions. The altitude ranges from 80 to 200 meters, allowing the grapes to retain the necessary acidity and aroma. Family members and close friends participate in the harvest, enabling strict selection of only ideally ripened grapes, which is a prerequisite for the exceptional quality of the final product.
WHY?
Gašper believes that Cabernet Franc is one of the most suitable red varieties for the terroir of Goriška Brda. The wines boast an aromatic, generous nose with abundant red and dark fruit framed by notes of green pepper and black pepper. They exhibit seductive, juicy tannins and remarkable structure, with an impressively long finish.
