WHO?
Vincent Mongeard and his wife Anne are the eighth generation wine curators at Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret, one of the most renowned Burgundian estates. Vincent nurtures an intensely passionate relationship with Pinot Noir, while his approach to the vineyard is insightful and pragmatic. They have adopted many organic and biodynamic farming principles, but they view each parcel as a separate small ecosystem.
WHERE?
The estate is located in the village of Vosne-Romanée, in the heart of the Côtes de Nuits subregion. They own 33 hectares of vineyards stretching from Beaune in the south to Marsannay in the north and bottle several quality levels, from basic Bourgogne to prestigious Grand Cru positions such as Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, and Grands Echézeaux.
WHY?
The reputation of Mongeard-Mugneret stems from their ability to age wines, complexity, and subtle differences in their terroir. The fruits of this wise and ambitious philosophy come in the form of distinctive and extremely delicate wines with a magnificent velvety texture. It’s up to you to get to know them better.
