WHO?
Charles Heidsieck is one of the most awarded wines in the world, backed by one of the most famous winemaking teams in Champagne—chosen 15 times for the prestigious title of ‘Sparkling Winemaker of the Year’. Founded in 1851 by a man who introduced Champagne to America and became known as ‘Champagne Charlie’.
WHERE?
In this exceptionally textured cuvée, only Chardonnay was used. Blanc des Millénaires 2014 is made from four of the finest Grand Crus and one Premier Cru in the Côte des Blancs, selected for their ability to develop and fully express their richness after maturation: Oger, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Cramant, and Vertus.
WHY?
The 2014 vintage, the eighth edition of this rare Blanc de Blancs cuvée, starting from the first in 1983, boasts sensational freshness of Chardonnay, leading to a rare combination of fruit maturity, with tropical notes of guava and pineapple, and the “chalk” effect from the Côte des Blancs, which adds a mineral touch.
