WHO?
The Katich Winery is located in Lovreć, in the village of Katići, near Imotski. The owner, Nikica Katić, who also owns a construction company, is a construction worker and entrepreneur who fell in love with winemaking and grape growing. Currently, they have 40,000 to 50,000 vines, with an annual production of 40,000 bottles.
WHERE?
All Katich wines are made from grapes grown in their own vineyards located in the Dalmatian inland, in the Imotski field, considered the most valuable part of the Imotska Krajina through which the river Vrljika flows.
WHY?
The indigenous variety “kujundžuša” is a symbol of the Imotska krajina, originating from the Imotski field, known for its good and regular yields. Kujundžuša wine is traditionally produced, and still often is, using prolonged maceration.
