WHO?
The Massolino family has owned their 23 hectares of vineyards since 1896. Winemaker Franco Massolino has done a marvelous job, blending change that respects tradition, something that sets him apart from most younger producers in Piedmont today.
WHERE?
Covering just over 1.7 hectares, the Margheria vineyard, with its cru status, is located in the heart of Serralunga d’Alba, a subregion in Barolo. Sub-areas within Margheria numbered 181-182-183-184 came into the ownership of the Massolino family in the 1970s.
WHY?
Traditional in style yet fresh, structured, and approachable in its youthful phase. Margheria is a fantastic wine that combines the potential of Serralunga with the elegance and harmony generated by the sandy component in the soil.
