WHO?
Yann Alexandre is the eighth generation of his family to grow vines in the Petite Montagne de Reims, the third to make Champagne there. He and his wife, Séverine, share a passion for horticulture that directly informs their viticulture. Their moto is to grow the vineyard like a garden..
WHERE?
Sous les Roses is a coveted site in the winery’s home village of Courmas which has shallow soils rich in calcareous-clay, a perfectly suited terroir for the expression of Blanc de Noirs. The wine is composed of 60% pinot noir and 40% pinot meunier, fermented and aged in stainless and oak barrels before it spends approximately 5 years en tirage with natural cork.
WHY?
60% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier, exclusively from the 2017 harvest and the “Sous les Roses” parcel in Courmas. 4 g/L of added sugar. Alcoholic fermentation partially in oak barrels. Partial malolactic fermentation.
