WHO?
Charles Heidsieck is one of the most awarded wines in the world, backed by one of the most renowned winemaking teams in Champagne – chosen 15 times for the prestigious title of ‘Sparkling Winemaker of the Year’. Established in 1851 by a man who introduced champagne to America and became known as ‘Champagne Charlie’.
WHERE?
This vintage incorporates as many as 11 ‘Cru’ positions, including vineyards that are the backbone of the house style – Oger, Avize, Vertus, and Cramant for Chardonnay, and Mailly and Ambonnay for Pinot Noir.
WHY?
One of the best vintages since the legendary 2002. The 2013 harvest is the result of an extremely harsh winter and matured for a full 8 years in the cellar before being released to the market. The ultimate result is a rare combination of strength, generous aromatics, and refined elegance. A unique blend of Grand Cru and Premier Cru positions with carefully selected clusters expressing exceptional minerality, intensity, and freshness.
